The Ergonomic Professional - Miguel Fernandes
This is my first set up for a desk job ever (at a computer). I've never worked on a computer more than 30min to send an e-mail or search for work. my line of work for the past 15 years its in show business and construction specifically on crafts such as prop, scene, costume and makeup design and building, so everything that as to do with hand work weather as small as a needle or as big as a whole building. also worked in house interior construction and autovan carpentry. My work motion ranges from very precise movements in painting and sculpting to large swinging motions to brake or take down walls. I've delt with big rotary machinery and exposed my self to quemicals of all sorts with and without protections. i also have very poor habits when it comes to where i place and work the materials.
i love to work on the floor and in crazy positions when needed and when not needed.
this to say carry a lot of all sorts of bad habits for the needs of my work and also from reference and even laziness. And those things tend to transfer to my desk work even with the proper tools i have acquired until now on this new line of work (ergonomic chair, pc stands and tablet arm.
I'm practicing better posture every time I'm working at it and also applying creative and building skills to emiliorate my stance and surrounings, such as the wood boards ive screwd to each side of the ergochir arms to assist with the key board and mouse. I've been trying different tools such as ergo mice and foot pedals to assist with over usage of only one or two parts of my body (this is in response to my over use of my hands and fingers witch caused me pain).
I'm already looking for screen arms to help with my neck angling and drawing out a movable stand for my drawing pad. Also planning to cut my bed base for to have more floor space for the ergochair base. also working on the stiffness of the ergo chair structure for it not to oscillate so much.
the hardest but more accurate and helpful work I'm doing its actually all the posture advisement Mrs. Eve is giving me because i believe and i see that if i practice them ill actually use things correctly and understand what better fits my needs when the advise its given to me.
Also doing my own camara set up to be able to watch my self for different angle in real time while working as advised by Mrs. Eve and its the biggest shocker'' I've had. Nothing like a good sponsor to watch out for us and there's no one better than our selves.
to work for Primal Roots and to advised By Mrs. Eve and and her knowledge in body and design ergonomics has been life changing and a great opportunity to help those around me too!
